Flora Hamilton, founder of Freaky Fish Swimming Goggles, began her entrepreneurial journey while studying for a BSc in Accounting and Finance.
With limited capital and a niche product, Flora faced the challenge of scaling her business beyond local markets. She needed a platform that could provide global reach and enable her to validate product-market fit on an international scale.
Using the prize money from the Business Plan Competition and the Enterprise Scholarship, Flora launched Freaky Fish on Amazon. This strategic move made her product accessible in over 100 countries, significantly expanding her customer base and increasing brand visibility.
“The past few months have been full of growth and new projects,” Flora says. “We've expanded to offer a full range of swim equipment and swimsuits, making it easier for swimmers to find everything they need in one place.”
After graduating in 2023, Flora returned to Hanoi, Vietnam, where she focused on further scaling her business. Building on the success of Freaky Fish, she initiated two new ventures:
1. Aquatics Hub – A dedicated swimming pool and fitness space designed to support Hanoi's growing interest in health and wellness.
2. Aqua Cafe – Located adjacent to the Aquatics Hub, this cafe serves nutritious, post-workout meals and quickly became a community favourite.
Flora now leads a team at Aqua Cafe and continues to grow it as a vibrant hub for connection, wellness, and community events.
In late 2023, Flora introduced the Creative Hub & Active Space, offering events, workshops, and wellness activities to complement the Aquatics Hub experience. At the same time, Freaky Fish expanded its product line to include a full range of swim equipment and swimwear. The brand now operates a standalone retail store in Hanoi, reinforcing its position as a one-stop shop for swim enthusiasts.
Flora's ventures have not only grown in terms of reach and revenue but also in community impact. From a student startup to a multifaceted business in Hanoi, her entrepreneurial path illustrates the power of vision, strategy, and execution.
With a strong foundation, growing brand presence, and a loyal customer base, Flora Hamilton continues to innovate and inspire. Both Freaky Fish and Aqua Cafe are poised for further expansion, and all eyes are on what Flora will dive into next.
